Pogba was left out of the United side while negotiations over a new deal were ongoing, prompting his decision to leave for Juventus in 2012.

The French midfielder has excelled in Turin, making 33 appearances in Serie A and scoring seven goals. His performances have seen him linked with a move back to Manchester, with either United or City, or with a move to oil-rich Paris Saint Germain, although reports have suggested that Pogba’s transfer fee from Juventus could be up to £60million.

“They left me out because they said I wanted to leave,” he said of his Old Trafford exit. “That is disrespect.”

“Maybe they didn’t think they were making a mistake.”

Pogba continued by admitting that he had left a big club, but insisted he needed to in order to progress his career.

“Manchester United is a big club but you have to think about yourself,”

“You have to play. The coach told me there would be space to play, but I wasn’t playing. I was training alone for one week.”

Pogba is second in Serie A for duels won (tackles, headers, take ons fouls).
