Chung will miss Sunday’s showdown in Philadelphia due to two injuries (heel and chest), after the 32-year-old had initially been listed as questionable.
A three-time Super Bowl champion, Chung – who spent a year with the Eagles in 2013 – was limited all week in practice.
Rookie running back Damien Harris will also miss the road game against the Eagles (5-4) because of a hamstring problem.
The Patriots (8-1) are looking to bounce back from a loss to the Baltimore Ravens prior to their bye week.
