Bennett may not have had that discussion with his 2-year-old daughter, but he did write her an open letter via Instagram following Trump’s improbable victory over Hillary Clinton, asking the question, “How will this affect my future?”

“Together we can be the change we wish to see in the universe,” Bennett wrote. “We have a lot of work to do, but I think we will have help.”
