Builds in Path of Exile are made of a plethora of small and big components, starting with all the passive nodes that players can pick up on the Passive Tree, and particularly so with the Scourge League, where there will be Passive Masteries to boot. Each piece of gear further makes up a character’s capabilities, both offensively and defensively, which means that players have to commit to a balancing act each time they change their setup. Some of those items can be Unique when it comes to their rarity, and they often end up being either subpar options, niche options, or very strong items that work well in most builds.
However, with Path of Exile’s latest expansion, the Scourge League, players will be able to obtain incredibly powerful new Unique items that will impact the meta a lot, despite them being extremely rare. One of them is the newly announced Mageblood Unique belt, which allows players to have four out of five of their Flasks active at all times, with no downsides and no action required on their part. This only works with Utility Flasks, which means that players won’t be able to have a constant source of healing by making it work on Life Flasks, and yet Mageblood looks like one of the strongest items to ever come to the game.
With it being so potent and so useful in every build in the game, it looks like an all-time fan favorite Unique belt could have a contender now. That item is the Headhunter belt, an item introduced many years ago in the Nemesis League, and an overlooked one for quite some time too, but when players discovered its true potential it immediately became one of the most expensive and rarest Uniques to get in Path of Exile.
With some Diablo 2: Resurrected players asking for refunds due to online servers issues, this could translate into more players at launch for Path of Exile: Scourge, on October 22. As such, even with Headhunter being a meta-dominating item in Path of Exile for a long time, it might take just a week or less for it to be dethroned when people start getting Mageblood.
Path of Exile: Scourge releases on October 22 for PC, and on October 27 for consoles.
