World No. 15 Kashyap, who won the Syed Modi International Grand Prix gold title in January lost to the shuttler from Hong Kong in a tough match, which lasted for 58 minutes. Kashyap, who had a win-loss record of 1-2 against the 33-year old Yun prior to this match, looked in supreme touch in the opening game as he took a strong seven point lead before the mid-game interval.
The two players seemed engaged in a battle of smashes and were at par with each other when it came to baseline rallies. Trailing by 15-19, Yun made a good comeback as he clinched the next four points in a row to back level the scores. Kashyap kept his calm at this decisive moment as he grabbed the next point to make it 20-19.He failed to convert the first game point opportunity but was lucky enough to win the next two as he won the game 22-20.
The second game was just a reverse of the opening game as this time Yun took a strong seven point lead before the break. The shuttler from Hong Kong was dominating the larger rallies as Kashyap started to make a lot more errors with his net-shots and judgement. With such a good lead, Yun faced absolutely no difficulty in closing the second game 21-11.
In the decider, Yun once again took a 7-3 lead early on and kept his nose ahead, despite a fighting, Kashyap who could only manage to reduce the gap to 11-6 at one stage.Yun never lost the hold from the match and sealed the deal comfortably in the end.
